SLSC scholarship program for logistics and trade industry.

The Sri Lanka Shippers' Council of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce in association with Colombo International Nautical and Engineering College (CINEC) will offer four scholarships to employees of their membership who are involved in logistics, freight forwarding and supply chain to excel in higher education and enhance their career prospects on those fields.

Scholarships on offer are as follows;

  • Professional diploma in logistics and supply chain management.
  • Certificate in logistics services, Freight forwarding and multimodal transport,
  • Certificate in customs and border management procedures
  • Certificate in exports and imports practices and procedures.

Commenting on the programme, Mr. Dinesh De Silva, Chairman of Sri Lanka Shippers' Council said that "This is only a stepping stone for young people who are aiming at a career in international trade related fields. The Sri Lanka Shippers Council, the apex body that represents the interest of the shippers is of the view that the quality of logistics services in this country should be further improved in order to improve the SL ranking in the LPI in the future. SLSC is always willing to help to improve skills and knowledge in shipping, logistics and international trade amongst the younger generation in the shipping and logistics community. This is only a part of our long term plan to promote the youth to enter this field and work towards a fulfilling career in the shipping and logistics industry."
